Project Procurement Managers

Position description

We are currently looking for Project Procurement Managers for our client in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Our client is hiring now for a permanent role. 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage the projects procurement according clients delivery process and customer instructions
  • Track project's procurement scope, schedule and costs together with project manager
  • Proven experience of procurement management
  • Experience of creating and implementing procurement and partner management strategies- for instance, has taken care of requirement specifications or supplier market research
  • Proactively organizes and manages procurement and purchasing tasks: e.g. buying activities, administration of contracts, and control of inventory, traffic, receiving and inventory
  • Solid understanding of purchasing of subcontracts or demanding equipment
  • Able to create procurement plan and schedule in compliance with project requirements
  • Understands the commercial and legal implications of the contract terms e.g. related to revenue recognition/ cash collection, warranties, liquidated damages
  • Achieves consensus and closes deals with a clear understanding / contract of what has been agreed 
  • Ensure efficient communication and information sharing between clients disciplines and other project stakeholders
  • Develop and implement mitigation plans for procurement activities and unanticipated occurrences and risks
  • Report projects' procurement status to Project Manager and to Customer periodically as agreed

Requirements

  • The applicant should have either commercial or technical B.Sc. or M.Sc. education
  • Minimum 5 years industrial related project procurement management experience
  • Effective management and leadership skills
  • Possesses a general understanding of contract administration, business principals and business law
  • Possesses basic understanding of each client engineering discipline
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Know-how on best practices on procurement management processes and tools
  • Is able to coordinate and lead purchasing or subcontracting negotiations
  • Has profound understanding of the contracting terms and conditions

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in English
  • Other language skills are an advantage
